TDS Tuesday

TDS Tuesday, is a Gears of War 2 multiplayer night on the xbox 360, where a load of the folk on TDS get together on Xbox Live and try to kill each other inbetween fits of laughter. It's not just standard games we play though, and it's not intended for the l33t players to show how cool they are. The entire purpose is just to have a laugh. We have matches, that mostly consist of having friendly fire on, like chainsaws only, frags only, boomshots only etc. These could get boring if it wasn't for the different game modes & maps being mixed up at the same time. My favourite so far is 'Frags only - Guardian - Canals' With friendly fire on, you have to be really careful what you tag, or who you tag. Many a time, we've seen team members kill their own guardian which leads to hell in the lobby afterwards, haha!

I said about l33t players not being the centre of attention and I meant it. It's because of me and Scunny (another lad off of TDS), that they've yet to have a snipes only match, or Boltoks(sp?) for that matter...

There were a fair few funny moments last night but the one that springs to mind most was 'Mortars only - Guardian - Jacinto(sp?)' That game was mayhem. Due to the fact there was some cover, it was agreed that anyone on purposely hiding under shelter, you were allowed to use your shotgun to go get them. Sadly(ok not really, it was hilarious) as 50% of the games do, someone broke the rules. There was only me left on my team, and about 3-4 of them. I was walking away as fast as I could while trying to get some mortar kills at the same time. Unfortunately for me, cef couldn't find a mortar, improvised. In the form of his chainsaw meeting my face. Well... that wasn't cricket was it? Gloves off and all that jazz. I dropped the rules and shotgunned about 4 of them in the face within about a minute in the next round, then called it even (with interest). Sadly there was a mix up of plans in the last round, as they thought we were going to do the same again, and so shotgunned us back, and so all rules were forgot for that round too.

Now, this probably doesn't come across as interesting or funny as it does to me or any of the other TDS folk, but I think it's just one of those 'you had to be there' things. By all means come along, sign up, and join in. You'll soon realise how fun it is.

Oh, and just incase gears isn't your thang. Theres a racing games night on a monday, a racing league night on a wednesday, a shoot-em-up night on a friday, and a Left 4 Dead night on a Saturday. Monday and Friday have rotors of games and so if you don't have one, you can still join in the week after.
